Brian
All About Brian: Brian is a male Cockapoo of 2.5yrs.
Due to multiple bite incidents, Brian is looking for a new home without young children. Brian currently lives with teenage children and has been very good with them and enjoys their company, he can however struggle to relax around them, as his requests to play fetch are usually capitulated.
Brian's bites have all surrounded his grooming and handling, so any family would need to understand the he will need time to develop a bond and trust his new family members. Now that he has been allowed to build up trust with his foster family, Brian has shown no physical sensitivity to being touched on his body, including paws, ears, tail and tummy and he is happy for these areas to be touched when he is relaxed.
Brian is a very clever and enthusiastic dog and, as with many Cockapoos would do well in a home that is active and that can keep him busy and entertained.
Brian is living with another dog and has lived with other dogs previously and would do well with having a doggy friend (or two) o play with in his new home. Brian generally gets on well with other dogs both visiting his home and on his walks and he is happy to walk with other dogs and shows good play manners.
Brian has done incredibly well since joining with his foster carer in late October, last year, where his training and rehabilitation has been deliberately slow, with an emphasis on rebuilding trust.
Brian greets visitors to his home very enthusiastically and his foster carer has had no issues.
Brian can suffer with some allergies and he is currently being fed a grain-free, fish protein based kibble.
Around cats, Brian was initially curious, but quickly developed an over-excitement around them, so we would recommend a cat free home.
Brian travels well on the rear seat but gets scared if travelling in crates in the boot.
Brian is naturally a very affectionate dog, and now that the trust has built up between him and his foster family, he enjoys having strokes and cuddles.
Brian is looking for a new family where his initial boundaries are understood and accepted and who are happy to allow him the time to adjust to his environment and develop a bond and trust.
